About Indian Pharmaceutical Association
The Indian Pharmaceutical Association (IPA) is the National body representing over 1 million pharmacists and pharmaceutical scientists from Industry, Academia, Regulatory, Hospital and Community Pharmacy and work to meet the India’s health care needs.
Community pharmacy (Retail pharmacies or Chemist Shops as commonly called in our country) is a well-developed concept where pharmacist comes directly in contact with the patients. In 1996, IPA created a community pharmacy division to make the Pharmacists aware of their role in the community – IPA Community Pharmacy Division (IPA CPD).
IPA CPD aims to enhance the role of a pharmacist and raise professional standards of pharmacy practice through its activities and aims to improve the public health through community pharmacists’ services.
As part of its collaborative efforts, Indian Pharmaceutical Association has joined hands with Bayer Zydus Pharmaceuticals for its educational initiative towards community pharmacists of India.
